Voices of Women PresentAn Anti-war Masterpiece on Stage
On June 30, 2004, the day the U. S. hands over power in Iraq, a staged reading of Iphigenia at Aulis will be produced by Voices of Women (VOW) and presented at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice on the USD campus. Forget about Troy and Brad Pitt - in this powerful anti-war masterpiece, you'll hear from the "real" Greeks. Dr. Marianne McDonald, Professor of Classics and Theatre at UCSD, translated the work. Acclaimed actor and director, Rosina Reynolds directs and stars in this dramatic presentation. Assisted by David Cohen, Reynolds has assembled a cast of leading San Diego actors to flesh out the story of "a leader who is mad for power, and for selling the people out after he gets it." |
