Panel Discussion and Reception with
Educators from the Republic of Kazakhstan

Ms. Gaisha Syzdykova and Ms. Svetlana Murzabekova visited San Diego in an ongoing effort by the Government of Kazakhstan to improve and transform their post-Soviet education system. Ms. Murzabekova is the Director of Kazakhstan’s new schools, a post equivalent to an Undersecretary of Education in the U.S.

This visit gave us the opportunity to learn about an education system in transition, as well as how an aspiring democracy is attempting to improve their citizens’ quality of life.
